The Queen led a scaled-back Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph last weekend. Normally, the commemorations in Whitehall are attended by around 10,000 veterans and serving military personnel, but owing to the lockdown, crowds were banned this year. The Queen observed the event from a balcony at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, while Prince Charles and other members of the royal family and political leaders laid wreaths; around 25 veterans then took part in a small march-past. Similarly pared-back events took place around the country.
